Camping!

Last night Ty and I took the kids camping for the first time!
(actually, Owen has gone with his dad once before, but it was our first time as a family!)
We borrowed Ty's parent's camper and headed up Little Cottonwood Canyon.
We left late, and ended up eating in the dark, and getting to bed very late, but the kids had a good time.
Sleep was difficult.
Pennie woke up several times throughout the night, scared and crying.
Ty took care of her.
Owen had a hard time getting to sleep, crying for his grandma.
But that wasn't the hard part.
He is a terrible co-sleeper!
He squished me into a corner and was laying all over me.
Suffice it to say that we were all exhausted today.
But we still had fun!
The kids and I explored the campground all morning. We played in the creek, climbed rocks, and admired all of the wild flowers.
It was so beautiful up there!

This picture really doesn't do it justice.
There were so many wild flowers, it was unbelievable!

My two cuties sitting by the mountain stream.

Owen feeling the cold water.

Eating graham crackers in our camping chairs.

Pennie saw Owen sitting on this log and ran over to join him.
After this, she had to sit on every log we came across :)

Owen contemplating jumping across the creek.

Someone had made a cool shelter out of small branches!
Owen went inside for a closer look.

Owen helping his dad hitch the trailer to the back of the van.

We really had a good time.
Though we think next time we'll just make it a day trip :)
