We did some of our favorite museums while we were there!Owen and Izzy both happen to LOVE the Natural History Museum, so we hit that one first!
Here are Izzy and Pennie taking a lunch break in the cafeteria. Pennie couldn't be asked to sit still, so she wandered around with a chicken finger in one hand.
The boys looking over a giant dinosaur. In my day, I would have called that a Brontosaurus.... until they told me it didn't really exist.
We also hit the MOMA with my good friend Amy and her three kids (plus a friend's little girl). We played a lot in the "material's lab".
It had lots of materials for the kids to play and work with.
Owen had a great time using this new program that Mac is developing. It's a touch screen, so the kids got to use paintbrushes to make paintings on the computer screens. He loved it.
Pennie's favorite piece. A shovel hanging from the ceiling.I can't remember who it's by. If anyone knows, please feel free to comment and remind me :)
I don't know if this was Owen's favorite, but it got my favorite response."La Danse" by Matisse
"Mommy, they are dancing without any clothes on. They have no nipples."
We also went to one of my favorite summer places in New York.Governor's Island!
Michelle, Melissa, Abey, Izzy, and me and my kids all went for a picnic. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful place.
Here is the only picture I have of all three of my boys.
From the look on his face, you would never be able to tell that he actually liked eating the bell peppers too.Hooray for finding a vegetable that Owen likes!
We spent a lot of time at "Purple", the playground in Astoria Park near the house we were staying at. We did a lot of swinging. But now, instead of pushing Izzy, he helped push Owen!I can't believe how big my boys are.
