the little things

It is so amazing being a mom! Owen is the most wonderful thing to happen to us. :) He makes us laugh every day. There are so many little things that make up his personality. First of all, he LOVES books. When we get home at night the reading begins. I sit down to just relax for a little while, and Owen goes and gets his books! He pulls out the little box that they are stored in, grabs one he likes, (typically "goodnight newyork", or "Sounds", or "first words". Though he makes it through most of the rest eventually.) He brings his book over and hands it to me! We read the book and when he's done (this may be before the story is actually finished) he wriggles out of my lap and goes to get another! We do this until it's time for dinner. I love that he loves to read :)

It's so amazing that Owen is now a toddler! It seems he was just a baby a few days ago. But he certainly doesn't look it. He is such a good little walker! He navigates quite well. At work there is a little step up into the kitchen. Owen holds onto the wall to keep his balance and does it himself! He really doesn't like help :) He also spins in circles now. Sort of ;) He kind of pivots on one foot in a circle. It's a game for him. He'll do a few and look up at me or his dad for approval. :) My favorite little thing is that he insists on walking people to the elevator! When his dad leaves for work in the morning he is not satisfied with the goodbye at the door. He follows him down the hall to the elevator, gets one more kiss goodbye and then he's okay going back to the apartment. If you don't allow him his proper goodbye, he gets very upset.

One of the newest, slightly annoying, favorite activities that Owen has is throwing his toys into the garbage. He loves it. We have had to hide the trash can in the kitchen behind our child safety gate.
