Floods and Fairs

With all of the flooding that is going on (and much more expected) here in Utah, I'm sure you're not surprised to hear that the street near our house flooded.
You may be surprised why though.
We had a water line burst under the street.
It was amazing.
The water was coming up through cracks in the asphalt. A LOT of water.
Owen and some other neighbor kids took the opportunity to have a great time!
They made a slip and slide out of a tarp, and played in the (freezing) water.

They are now trying to clean up after the mess.
There is a HUGE hole in the middle of the street. They are waiting for replacement parts so that they can fix the pipe. (apparently they don't make this kind of pipe anymore, and the parts have to be made special)
But there was a team out today cleaning up from the mess the flood made. This meant more water!
Owen was soaked in about 5 seconds.

This past weekend was also Taylorsville Dayz!
A big festival celebrating our town.
There was a parade, a carnival, music, and fireworks!
(30 minutes of fireworks!)
Owen had a great time. It was his first time at a carnival!

They had pony rides.

Owen was such a big boy. No help or encouragement needed :)

The guy running it tried to put him in the second car....
He insisted on the first :)
